Powered Paragliding Instruction at Oregon Paramotor

For Everyone

Learning to fly a paramotor is safe, easy and lots of fun. With small class sizes and great student to instructor ratios, the majority of students complete training within a 8-10 day course.

MINIMAL TRAINING

Young or old you needn’t think it’s difficult; powered paragliding techniques are easy to pickup and you’ll quickly improve. Expect some physical activity but all levels of fitness should cope.

NO LICENSE

Classed as a ultralight aircraft by the FAA, paramotoring is a self-regulated sport and has no formal pilot licensing or flight hours requirement. Just learn and go!

IT'S AWESOME

Let’s face it, becoming a paramotor pilot is downright awesome. Not only does it add an instant dose of ‘cool’ to your life, even when the initial rush wears off there’s always new skies to explore.

In simplest terms, powered paragliding (“paramotoring”) is having a paraglider overhead and a motor on your back. You can launch from anywhere flat and open, like a community soccer field or country farm. Imagine relaxing in a flying lawn chair… floating through sky like a superhero… no tights required.

No license is needed, the rules & regulations are minimal, but paramotor training is imperative. You strap an engine to your back, hook up a glider, and run into the sky. If running isn’t your thing, wheels can be added. Either way, you can fly cross country or go thousands of feet into the air. Sadly, you’ll regret not starting this sport sooner, and you'll find dust collecting on that motorcycle or ATV in no time.

The process for launching a powered paraglider can be done two ways, on wheels, or on foot. We specialize in Foot Launch training at Oregon Paramotor. The training process can be completed in as little as 7 days, see our training page for more information.

10 reasons not to buy a paramotor

A friend made this funny video about how addictive and rewarding becoming a paramotor pilot has been for him

Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.
